As a kid I love going to Cultus Lake Waterpark, there are so many fun slides, plus they’ve added to it over the years, making it bigger and better than when I was a kid. I’m excited to be taking the kids this year for the first time, plus checking out the Adventure Park with them as well. Plus I get to treat another family to some Summer fun as well! It’s a bold piece that stands out and it’s perfect for everyday wear. This is a piece that gets noticed and I receive compliments every time I wear it, whether by itself or layered with bracelets.
What are your tricks to get ready for back to school? This is our first year of school- hello kindergarten!- and I’ve been trying to think of ways to make getting into our new routine as smooth as possible. At the top of the list: meal planning. My goal is to plan for the week ahead on a Sunday and prep meals/ snacks the night before, to take some of the pressure off in the morning.
Over the Summer I tried to make a habit of meal planning on Sundays and testing out recipes (thanks Pinterest!). I have been inconsistent with this in the past, but what I like about meal planning is that it helps get the week ahead organized. Added bonuses: everyone can make requests, we can mix in favourites with new recipes to try, and it reduces our grocery bill and food waste. While I’m feeling more settled with meal planning, I’ve called in back up just in case there are some bumps in the road as we settle into the new school routine: a few meals a week from Fresh Prep (see some of the ones we’re trying below).
We have enjoyed Fresh Prep before and love their variety, quality ingredients, and how quick and simple the meals are. With just a few clicks you can organize some (or all!) of your meals for the week and have them delivered right to your door. If you want to get meal time organized for back to school and everything that comes with this time of year- after-school activities, practices, appointments, etc- Fresh Prep may be your friend this Fall.
Thanks to Fresh Prep, I’ve got some of the meals for the month already figured out and I’m giving away a $75 shopping credit to help make September and back to school a little smoother for another family!
The meals take 15- 30 minutes to cook, and ingredients come prepped for use, along with easy-to-follow instructions. For busy evenings when you need a little help with dinner, Fresh Prep is a great option. See below to enter!
What little things do you try to do as part of your wellness routine?
It can be drinking more water, taking your vitamins, or working on your mental health. Whatever it is, even small steps can add up to create healthy habits we can maintain. It can take a little time and patience, but over time these efforts add up and today I’m sharing how making Botanica Health a part of that routine is not only an easy choice, but a delicious one.
This has been something I’ve been working on for over a year, and even though I think I’ve still got progress to make, I’ve learned that I can’t change things overnight- but I’ve got to start somewhere and have a little patience. Creating new healthy habits has taken two forms for me: focusing on body and mind, and the two have gone hand-in-hand. Running has become a part of my weekly routine and something that has helped my body and mind feel better. But that’s just half of the equation; the other is paying attention to how my body feels and fueling it with healthy choices. View Post
Hands up whose kids pick and choose what they like to eat on the daily? One day they’ll happily snack on apple slices and the next they push them away with a ‘really Mom?’ kind of look. Kids, amiright?! I totally admit I was a picky eater as a kid (sorry Mum and Dad!) and now with my kids I’ve gone from one end of the extreme to the other: I’ve had phases where they’ll try anything I serve them (yessss!!!) to days when everything I put in front of them is pushed away/ spat out/ thrown on the floor, etc.- and everything in between as part of the crazy yo-yo that is feeding children. Ughhhhhh. Somedays I just throw my hands up and ask for a little more patience and ideas for foods they’ll eat. View Post
